Report: Beheshtikian Requests Urgent Meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei to Stop IRGC's "Madness"

SadaNews - The "Iran International" channel reported unprecedented tension between the government and the leadership of the Revolutionary Guard, due to recent attacks that occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

According to this information, Iranian President Beheshtikian described the Revolutionary Guards' approach in escalating tensions with regional countries as "madness," and demanded an urgent meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei to stop the attacks on these countries.

Information indicates an unprecedented rise in tension between the government and military leaders, including the commander of the Revolutionary Guards. Beheshtikian considered the Guards' policy of escalating regional tensions to be "madness," calling for an immediate meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei to halt attacks on regional countries.

According to the received information, Beheshtikian is extremely angry with the actions of Ahmad Vahidi, the commander of the Guards, describing the missile strikes and drone attacks carried out by the Revolutionary Guard on the United Arab Emirates as a completely "irresponsible" move, carried out without the knowledge or coordination with the government. Beheshtikian characterized this approach as "madness," warning of its irretrievable consequences.

The channel stated: "In light of the deteriorating situation and the potential for Tehran to slip back into war, Masoud Beheshtikian requested an urgent and emergency meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei, aiming to demand the cessation of the Revolutionary Guards' attacks on Gulf countries and to prevent their recurrence."

The channel added: "During this meeting, Beheshtikian intends to emphasize that there is a short window of opportunity available to save the ceasefire agreement through urgent diplomatic action, and that he should be allowed to inform international mediators of Tehran's readiness to return to the negotiating table."

Sources close to the presidency told "Iran International" that Beheshtikian is extremely concerned about potential international reactions, believing that the country is, in any case, not capable of entering into a new comprehensive war.

According to information relayed by the Iranian channel, Beheshtikian warned that the continuation of these unilateral attacks would lead to strong American responses targeting vital energy facilities and economic infrastructure in Iran, which could, according to him, result in the complete destruction of the country and an irreversible collapse in the living conditions of the population.

The "Iran International" channel and website is one of the most prominent media platforms operating in Persian and directed at both the Iranian interior and the diaspora, and is classified as an opposition media outlet to the regime in Tehran. The channel was established in May 2017 and is headquartered in London, though it has witnessed security changes and important political developments in recent years.
