Occupation Demolishes 13 Residential and Agricultural Structures in Silwan, Al-Ram, and Al-Isawiya

SadaNews - Israeli occupation authorities demolished 13 residential and agricultural structures today, Wednesday, in various areas of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated in a statement that the occupation municipality demolished the home of elderly Jerusalemite citizen Saleh Dweik in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, which covers an area of 110 square meters and houses a family of four. The home, built in 1998, has been subjected to fines of 500 shekels per month since 2024, and he is obligated to continue paying them until 2030, even after his home has been demolished.

Dweik is suffering from cancer, and he had worked as a guard at the Al-Aqsa Mosque for twenty years.

In the town of Al-Ram to the north, occupation forces demolished a horse stable in the Qabat area.

Occupation machinery also carried out 11 demolition operations in the Al-Isawiya area, targeting homes and structures belonging to several citizens: Mazen Muheisen (3 rooms), Muhammad Jumaa (1 room), Naim Muheisen, Abdel Nasser, and Ali Muheisen (3 rooms), Eid Al-Saidi (an addition), Mazen Muheisen (2 rooms), Fares Muheisen (1 room), Muhammad Saleh Mustafa (2 rooms), Ahmed Radi Nasser (2 residences and a water well), and Abu Muneer Khawis (1 room).

These operations come as part of the occupation's policy of demolishing structures under the pretext of building without a permit, amid strict restrictions imposed on Palestinians in Jerusalem, which makes obtaining building permits nearly impossible, forcing citizens to face the risk of demolition or pay exorbitant fines.
