Zamir Directs the Israeli Army to Transition to High Readiness for the Potential Resumption of War with Iran

SadaNews - The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Eyal Zamir, has ordered the army to transition to a high level of readiness in preparation for the possibility of returning to military confrontation with Iran in the near future, following today’s announcement, Sunday, about the deadlock in negotiations between the United States and Iran in Pakistan.

Israeli military sources stated that the Israeli army has entered into organized combat procedures, similar to those followed on the eve of the two wars against Iran, in June and at the end of February of this year, while expediting all planning and execution operations. In this context, instructions have been issued to maintain high efficiencies in all military branches and reduce response times, as well as to close operational gaps, according to what was reported by the "Walla" website.

The Israeli military intelligence is working to expedite the construction of a "target bank" in Iran, particularly the military targets, primarily missile systems, launch platforms, and the supportive infrastructure, enabling quick offensive capabilities should the political level decide to resume war.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force, along with the operations branch, is elaborating offensive plans and constructing what is described as large-scale "offensive packages." These preparations include training on scenarios for initiating war and rapid transition to warfare.

According to the report, the Israeli army is enhancing the deployment of air defense systems and preparing for the possibility of escalation on several fronts simultaneously, raising the state of alert across all fronts.

Israeli security assessments consider that the negotiations between the United States and Iran in Pakistan have collapsed, reflecting the depth of the differences between the two sides and reducing the possibilities for a diplomatic solution. However, military sources indicated that no decision has been made regarding initiating a military operation, and the aim of the current measures is to ensure full readiness for any scenario.

The Israeli army is preparing for the possibility that Iran may initiate fire due to miscalculation; therefore, it raised the level of readiness and preparations, coordinating with the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

"Walla" noted that Israel was not surprised by the deadlock in negotiations between the United States and Iran, and that the decision currently lies in the hands of US President Donald Trump regarding the resumption of war with Iran. This comes after the return of the US negotiation delegation, headed by Vice President J.D. Vance, to Washington to report on the negotiations to Trump.

Reports indicate that some of Trump and Vance's advisors are not keen on resuming war and may recommend extending negotiations. Vance stated before leaving Pakistan that the proposal submitted to Iran is "the final and best proposal, and we will see if the Iranians will accept it."

Reports mentioned that potential options could include a naval blockade on Iran or US and Israeli strikes targeting Iranian energy fields and infrastructure to prevent Iran's ability to repair them, military operations in the Strait of Hormuz and Qeshm Island, and a potential military operation to extract enriched uranium at 60% purity from Iran.

"Walla" further reported that there is a sense of "satisfaction" in Israel regarding the firm line taken by the United States in the negotiations in Pakistan.
