Washington Rescues Pilot from Iranian Mountains.. Trump Calls Operation the Boldest in American Military History
SadaNews: Reuters and The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. forces executed a rescue operation for an F-15 pilot after his plane crashed deep in Iranian territory, confirming that all participating units exited Iranian airspace safely.
Axios mentioned that the operation was carried out by a specialized commando unit under heavy air cover, and that the pilot was extracted from the rugged mountains of Iran where he was being pursued.
In statements from U.S. President Donald Trump, he described the operation as "one of the boldest search and rescue operations in American history," noting that one crew member suffered minor injuries but would be fine.
He added that the U.S. military sent dozens of armed aircraft to secure the pilot's exit, who holds the rank of colonel, emphasizing that he is now safe and sound.
Trump stressed that this is the first time in military memory that American pilots were rescued separately inside "enemy" territory, affirming, "We will never leave any American warrior behind, and we executed the operations without a single casualty or even an injury."
