Young Man Detonates Explosive Devices on High-Speed Train in Germany
SadaNews - A 20-year-old man armed with two knives detonated explosive devices on a high-speed train in Germany before passengers managed to subdue and detain him, police reported on Friday.
The police stated in a statement that the suspect detonated "explosive devices," resulting in 12 people suffering minor injuries before passengers were able to restrain him and lock him in the restroom, adding that he was carrying two knives.
The incident occurred late Thursday on a train headed to Frankfurt am Main (West) which had 180 passengers on board.
The police announced that they are investigating the suspect's motives. The newspaper "Bild" reported that the attacker expressed a desire to kill people.
Witnesses told public broadcaster "Deutschlandfunk" that the explosive devices contained plastic pellets.
