8 Arab and Islamic countries condemn the law of executing Palestinian prisoners
SadaNews: Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, and the UAE condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of the "Law of Executing Palestinian Prisoners".
The ministers stated in a joint statement today, Thursday, that the ongoing actions of the Israeli occupation reinforce a system of apartheid and adopt an exclusionary rhetoric that denies the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and their existence in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The statement continued: "This legislation constitutes a dangerous escalation, especially in light of its discriminatory application against Palestinian prisoners, and has the potential to inflame tensions and undermine regional stability."
The ministers warned about the catastrophic conditions of prisoners in the occupation's jails, as they are subjected to torture, cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment, starvation, and deprivation of their basic rights, asserting that these practices reflect a broader trend of violations against the Palestinian people.
They reiterated their rejection of Israeli policies based on racial discrimination, repression, and aggression, which target the Palestinian people.
The ministers emphasized the necessity of refraining from the measures imposed by the occupation authorities, which could exacerbate tensions, stressing the importance of ensuring accountability, and calling for intensified international efforts to maintain stability and prevent further deterioration.
