A source reported that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance conveyed a "stern" message indicating that Trump’s patience is running out, warning of increased pressure on Iranian infrastructure if an agreement is not reached. The source added that Trump tasked Vance with informing intermediaries of Washington's openness to a ceasefire, provided that certain U.S. demands are met, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. It was also noted that Vance continued his communications with intermediaries regarding the Iranian conflict up until Tuesday, according to what was reported by Reuters. This came as U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that the new Iranian regime leader had requested a ceasefire. Trump wrote in a post on his platform "Truth Social" on Wednesday that "the new regime leader in Iran, much less extreme and much smarter than his predecessors, just asked the United States for a ceasefire!".
