Israel Expands Its Ground Operation in Southern Lebanon Amid Expectations of Greater Escalation Against Hezbollah

SadaNews: The Israeli Occupation Army announced that the forces of the 8th Reserve Brigade have started a focused ground operation in southern Lebanon under the command of the 91st Division, a move that observers see as an indication of the widening scope of confrontation. The Financial Times reported Israeli officials saying that once the current war in Iran ends, the assault on Hezbollah in Lebanon will escalate, reflecting the interconnected and overlapping nature of the fronts in the context of regional escalation.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army confirmed that it has carried out a repositioning and deployment of its units in areas experiencing hostile incursions around southern border towns, explaining that this step came in response to the escalation of Israeli aggression, which has led to the siege of some units and their isolation from supply lines.

Additionally, the National News Agency reported that there are martyrs and wounded as a result of an Israeli drone targeting a bus and a vehicle on the Ma'rub - Dardghiya road in southern Lebanon, in a new incident added to a series of airstrikes in the region.

In a notable development, the military spokesperson for the Houthi group announced that their forces have targeted sensitive Israeli enemy positions in southern occupied Palestine with ballistic missiles, indicating that the operation was conducted in coordination with Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which highlights the expanding circle of parties involved in the confrontation.
