Occupation Demolishes 4 Homes in Silwan
SadaNews - Today, Israeli occupation forces demolished 4 homes in the town of Silwan, south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Jerusalem governorate reported that the occupation forces, accompanied by heavy machinery, stormed the Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan and demolished homes belonging to the Awad, Abu Shafe, and Rwaydi families without prior warning.
This demolition is part of the ongoing policies of the occupation to impose restrictions on Palestinian construction in the occupied city of Jerusalem and its surroundings, exacerbating the housing crisis and limiting residents' ability to maintain and expand their homes.
According to the Jerusalem governorate, the occupation authorities carried out 49 demolition and leveling operations in the governorate last February, including 15 forced self-demolitions, 27 demolitions using occupation machinery, and 7 land leveling operations. They also confiscated 143 notices, of which 125 were demolition orders, 16 evacuation orders, and 2 seizure orders, concentrated in Anata, Silwan, Al-Eizariya, and Abu Dis.
