Referral of 9 Violators to the Public Prosecutor for Price Manipulation During Ramadan
SadaNews Economy - The Ministry of National Economy has referred 9 violators to the Public Prosecutor for combating economic crimes for failing to adhere to prices and violating the regulations and laws in force during the blessed month of Ramadan.
The General Administration for Consumer Protection in the ministry indicated in its monthly report that its teams, in collaboration with partners (customs, security forces, agriculture, health, the governorate), seized more than 48 tons and destroyed over 273 tons of violating goods.
This came during the execution of 502 inspection rounds that included visits to 3,854 shops and commercial establishments, during which 90 notifications were issued and 37 shops were cited for violations.
It was noted that 47 samples of products were withdrawn for testing to ensure compliance with the mandatory technical specifications and instructions.
The ministry emphasized that its teams continue to carry out their monitoring rounds in the markets to ensure the availability of safe, clean, and fairly priced goods, urging citizens to report any violations through the "Bihimna" platform.
