The Jordanian Journalists Syndicate Decides to Address Its Palestinian Counterpart Expressing Its Rejection of the Insult Attributed to a Palestinian Journalist Against Jordan
SadaNews - The Jordanian Journalists Syndicate Council renewed its condemnation during a session held on Saturday, headed by Tareq Al-Moumani, regarding the attacks facing the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and attempts by certain parties to insult its symbols and components. It affirmed that such practices are rejected and condemned and violate deep-seated national principles that cannot be accepted to be attacked under any circumstances.
The council pointed out that the seriousness of these transgressions multiplies in light of the sensitive circumstances the region is experiencing, including Jordan, which is facing attacks on its territory by Iran or its affiliated agents and militias, in addition to the electronic war waged by their followers. This necessitates the highest levels of responsibility in media discourse, protecting it from any insults or attempts to distort or sow discord and strife.
The council reiterated its call for unity and sidelining disputes to confront the targeting that Jordan is facing, standing alongside and behind King Abdullah II, who continues day and night to halt the current escalation and protect the country's supreme interests and maintain its security and stability.
The council commended the decision of the Palestinian Broadcasting and Television Authority - Palestine Channel, to open an investigation with its correspondent in the West Bank regarding the insult attributed to her via Facebook, considering this step reflects a high level of professionalism and media responsibility, as well as a commitment to journalistic ethics.
The council decided to address the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate to express its rejection of this insult and to emphasize the importance of taking measures to prevent the recurrence of such transgressions, especially during this sensitive phase that requires strengthening the unity of the Arab media position.
The council affirmed that these individual voices represent only themselves and do not reflect the position of the Palestinian people or its media institutions. It emphasized the deep fraternal relations between Jordan and Palestine and Jordan's steadfast role in supporting its brothers in various circumstances.
The council renewed its emphasis on the necessity of adhering to professional standards and protecting media discourse from any insults or transgressions, thus enhancing Arab unity and preserving fraternal relations among peoples.
