The Electoral Committee Announces the Legal Timelines for the 2026 Legislative Elections
SadaNews - The Central Election Commission announced today, Thursday, the schedule of legal timelines for the 2026 legislative elections, scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026, in accordance with the presidential decree issued in this regard, and in compliance with the provisions of the General Election Law No. (1) of 2007 and its amendments.
The committee clarified that the opening of voter registration centers in the West Bank will begin on the morning of Saturday, August 15, 2026, and will continue for 5 days until the evening of Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Regarding the nomination phase, the nomination door will open on the morning of Saturday, September 26, 2026, for a duration of 12 days, and will close on the evening of Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Meanwhile, the electoral campaigning will start from Friday, November 6, 2026, and will last for 21 days, with the electoral silence period starting on Friday, November 27, 2026.
The early voting for security forces will take place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, while the general voting day will be Saturday, November 28, 2026.
The preliminary election results are scheduled to be announced within 24 hours of their preparation, while the final results will be published within two weeks from the date of voting, after the conclusion of legal challenges to the results in accordance with the law.
