Palestine.. Trade Balance Deficit Increases by 15% During May Last Year

SadaNews Economy - The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics reported that exports increased in May 2026 by 25% compared to May 2025, reaching a value of 193.3 million US dollars.

Exports to Israel during May 2026 rose by 33% compared to May 2025, accounting for 96% of the total value of exports for May 2026. Meanwhile, exports to the rest of the world decreased by 45% compared to May 2025.

Merchandise Imports

Imports during May 2026 increased by 18% compared to May 2025, amounting to 719.7 million US dollars.

Imports from Israel during May 2026 grew by 42% compared to May 2025, constituting 65% of the total value of imports for May 2026. In contrast, imports from the rest of the world decreased by 10% compared to May 2025.

The Trade Balance of Recorded Goods

As for the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, it recorded an increase in the value of the deficit by 15% during May 2026 compared to May 2025, with the deficit amounting to 526.4 million US dollars.
