The Presidency: The Break-in at Al-Aqsa is a Gross Violation of the Historical and Legal Status

SadaNews: The Palestinian presidency condemned today, Thursday, the break-in by settlers, led by the extremist Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Knesset member Amit Halevi, into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, where they performed Talmudic rituals, considering this a gross violation of the existing historical and legal status.

The presidency affirmed that what is happening at Al-Aqsa Mosque represents a dangerous escalation that falls within a systematic policy aimed at imposing new realities within it, and attempts to temporally and spatially divide it.

The presidency emphasized that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunams, is a purely worship place for Muslims, and that there is no Israeli sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites.

The presidency called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and to take a firm stance that compels Israel to stop all its violations and unilateral measures in Jerusalem and all occupied Palestinian territories.
