Airstrikes Target Arak Reactor in Central Iran.. Bombing of Uranium Processing Plant
SadaNews - After the Israeli army hinted today, Friday, at attacking military infrastructure of the Iranian regime in Arak, central Iran, an Iranian official reported that the Iranian Arak heavy water research reactor was targeted, according to the Fars news agency.
The official from Markazi province, Hassan Qamari, stated that "the Arak heavy water complex was targeted in two phases by attacks from the American and Zionist enemy."
Fars news agency and other media confirmed that there were no injuries or radioactive leakage from the site.
Uranium Processing Plant
This came after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning for two areas in Arak, which is known as an industrial city, home to major factories in metals, machinery, and energy. Additionally, Arak is close to important facilities, most notably the Arak heavy water reactor, which is linked to the Iranian nuclear program.
For its part, the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency reported that a uranium processing plant in Yazd province, central Iran, was targeted. However, the bombing of the plant did not result in any radioactive material leakage, according to local media.
