Four members of an Iranian-backed Iraqi faction killed in a strike attributed to Washington
SadaNews: Four fighters from an Iranian-backed armed Iraqi faction were killed early Tuesday in a strike on their headquarters in northern Iraq, according to the Imam Ali Brigades, which accused the United States of carrying it out.
The Imam Ali Brigade indicated that "a treacherous American aggression targeted one of the headquarters of Brigade 40" affiliated with them within the Popular Mobilization Forces "in the district of Dibis in Kirkuk province," according to France Press.
For its part, Reuters cited Iraqi security sources saying that airstrikes targeted a headquarters of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces near Kirkuk, resulting in the deaths of four fighters and injuries to twelve others.
Since the beginning of the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran last week, several strikes have targeted bases belonging to pro-Iran factions within facilities related to the Popular Mobilization Forces.
Conversely, factions have claimed responsibility for drone and missile attacks on "enemy bases" in Iraq and the region, without specifying the nature of their targets.
