President Abbas Receives Arab Ambassadors Residing and Accredited to the State of Palestine

SadaNews - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received the Arab ambassadors residing and accredited to the State of Palestine (Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Oman, and Morocco) on Thursday evening.

President Abbas welcomed the Arab ambassadors, conveying his greetings and appreciation to the kings and presidents of the brotherly Arab countries, and thanked the State of Palestine and its people for their positions and continuous support for our national cause.

The president reiterated the condemnation of the State of Palestine for any attacks or targeting of the brotherly Arab countries and their peoples, and their right to take any measures that preserve the sovereignty, security, and stability of their states, emphasizing the importance of collective Arab solidarity in facing all threats to the security and stability of the region.

He informed the Arab ambassadors about the latest developments in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, amid the persistence of the occupation authorities in continuing their unilateral measures and imposing their aggressive policies represented in settlement expansion, implementing annexation and displacement plans, withholding Palestinian clearance funds, and providing protection for settler terrorism, in addition to the escalation of violations against Islamic and Christian sanctities in occupied Jerusalem and the city of Hebron.

The president emphasized that Israel has not adhered to the ceasefire reached in the Gaza Strip based on the U.S. President Trump's plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and continues to target our people and destroy what remains of the Gaza Strip, the latest of which is the closure of the Rafah crossing, calling on the international community to pressure Israel to open the crossing and ensure the entry of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

He affirmed the necessity of commencing the implementation of the second phase of the UN Security Council resolution calling for the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and for armed factions to hand over their weapons according to the principle of one state, one law, and one legitimate weapon.

The president stressed the Palestinian leadership's commitment to enhancing joint Arab coordination to strengthen the Palestinian position towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, and to confront the ongoing challenges facing the Arab states and peoples, especially in these delicate circumstances the region is going through.

For their part, the Arab ambassadors conveyed the greetings of their brotherly countries' leaders to the president, along with their wishes to fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence, congratulating him and, through him, the Palestinian people, on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Arab ambassadors affirmed the firm positions of the Arab countries in support of the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence in accordance with international legitimacy and international law.
