Moscow: The Attack on Iran is Dangerous and May Lead to Catastrophe

SadaNews - Russia condemned today (Saturday) the American and Israeli strikes on Iran, describing them as a "dangerous adventure" that threatens the region with a "catastrophe," aimed at "destroying" the Iranian government for its refusal to submit to the "dictates" of Washington and Tel Aviv.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement: "Washington and Tel Aviv are once again embarking on a dangerous adventure that is rapidly bringing the region closer to a humanitarian, economic, and possibly a nuclear catastrophe as well." It added that "the intentions of the aggressors are clear and declared, which is to destroy the constitutional system and the government of a country they do not want, which has refused to submit to the dictates of power and hegemony."

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, criticized U.S. President Donald Trump today (Saturday) over the attack on Iran, questioning the United States' ability to endure given its relatively short history compared to the history of Persian civilization, according to "Reuters."

Medvedev stated: "The peacemaker has once again shown his true face... All negotiations with Iran are nothing but a cover-up for the (true objectives). No one has doubted that, and no one really wanted to negotiate on anything."

He added: "The question is which party will have the patience to wait the longest for the disgraceful end of its enemy. The United States is only 249 years old, while the Persian Empire was established more than 2500 years ago. We will see what happens in 100 years."

Israel announced today the implementation of a "preventive attack" on Iran, in a move considered a new escalation in the ongoing years-long conflict over Iran's nuclear and missile programs.

Trump announced in a video clip posted on "Truth Social" that the United States has started "large-scale" combat operations in Iran, according to Bloomberg News today (Saturday).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video about the attack on Iran, told his country's citizens that "just a short while ago, Israel and the United States initiated an operation to eliminate the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran."
