British Police to Continue Searching Andrew's Home in Windsor
SadaNews - The search operations at the former residence of Prince Andrew, for whom the UK government pledged to consider removing from the line of succession once police investigations are complete, are expected to continue.
Despite being stripped of his title last year, the former Duke of York still holds the eighth position in the line of succession, and it will be necessary for the House of Commons to pass a law to prevent him from ever becoming king.
The government of Prime Minister Keir Starmer will consider advancing a bill in this regard once the police have completed their investigations with King Charles III's brother, according to British News Agency (PA Media).
Chancellor James Murray told Sky News, "The government is considering any further steps that may be required, and we are not ruling anything out. But at this stage, it would be inappropriate for us to go further because there is a police investigation underway."
The British police carried out a search at Andrew's former home yesterday (Friday), following his arrest and detention for nearly 11 hours on suspicion of misconduct in public office, stemming from his friendship with the late convicted sex offender, American financier Jeffrey Epstein.
