UN Warns of Ethnic Cleansing Concerns in Gaza and the West Bank
SadaNews - The United Nations expressed, today Thursday, concerns about the possibility of ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as a result of intensive Israeli attacks and the forced displacement and transfer of Palestinian civilians.
A report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights stated, "The intense attacks, systematic destruction of entire neighborhoods, and blocking of humanitarian aid appear to aim at creating a permanent demographic change in Gaza."
The report emphasized that "this, along with the forced displacement operations that appear to aim at creating permanent displacement, raises concerns about ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank."
