Occupation notifies of the evacuation and demolition of more than 20 homes and facilities in Anata, north of Jerusalem
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation authorities notified today, Sunday, of the evacuation and demolition of more than 20 homes and residential, agricultural, and commercial facilities in Anata town, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, in a step that threatens to displace dozens of families and deprive them of their homes and sources of livelihood.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation forces delivered notices to the homeowners in the Wadi Al-Bayk area of the town, claiming that they built without permits, in a move considered part of the occupation's policy to tighten the screws on Palestinians.
It clarified that the occupation forces unleashed a barrage of sound bombs and tear gas randomly towards citizens in the area, causing cases of suffocation among the residents, especially in the areas close to the targeted homes.
It is noteworthy that the occupation forces had delivered several demolition notices to the residents in the same area a few days ago, as part of a policy aimed at pressuring Palestinian residents and restricting their right to build.
The town of Anata, like many towns in occupied Jerusalem, is subjected to a systematic policy of demolition and pressure through repeated notifications under the pretext of building without permits.
