Stunning Surprise.. Pentagon Used Artificial Intelligence to Arrest Maduro
SadaNews - As international fears about artificial intelligence and its rapid development escalate, amid growing concern over its usage controls, informed sources revealed that the AI model "Claude" from Anthropic was used in a U.S. military operation to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro at the beginning of last month. This could indicate a growing reliance of the Pentagon on AI models.
It is worth noting that the guidelines for using the "Claude" model prohibit its use in facilitating violence, developing weapons, or conducting surveillance operations, according to the Wall Street Journal.
In response, a spokesperson for Anthropic confirmed that "he cannot comment on whether Claude, or any other AI model, was used in any specific operation, classified or unclassified."
However, he emphasized that "any use of Claude, whether in the private sector or by government entities, must comply with the usage policies governing how it is deployed." He stated, "We work closely with our partners to ensure compliance with those policies."
Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Defense declined to comment on the matter.
