Bangladesh Nationalist Party Declares Victory in First Election After 2024 Uprising

The party's media unit stated in a post on the "X" platform this Friday that the party has secured enough seats in parliament to govern alone, although the Election Commission has not yet announced the final results, despite several local media outlets reporting the party's victory.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is led by Tarique Rahman, the party's candidate for Prime Minister.
Rahman, 60 years old, returned to Bangladesh in December after 17 years in voluntary exile in London. He is the son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who passed away last December.
