Netanyahu Concludes His Visit to the United States and Clarifies His Position on the Iran Deal
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concluded his visit to the United States on Thursday evening, returning to Israel.
Netanyahu stated aboard the plane taking him back to Israel, "I have just completed a short and important visit to Washington, during which I met our great friend, President Trump, with whom we have a genuine and clear close relationship."
He added, as translated by SadaNews, "The discussions covered several topics, primarily focusing on negotiations with Iran."
He continued: "President Trump believes that the Iranians have already understood who they are dealing with, and I believe that the conditions he is setting, along with their understanding that they were wrong last time when they did not reach an agreement, could lead to their acceptance of terms that allow for a good agreement to be reached."
He went on: "I would like to say clearly: I do not hide my general skepticism about the possibility of reaching any agreement with Iran. However, I clarified that if an agreement is reached, it must include important components for the State of Israel, and in my opinion, also for the entire international community: not only the nuclear issue but also ballistic missiles and Iranian mercenaries in the region."
He added, "Our conversation was excellent, and of course, we also discussed Gaza, the entire region, and other general topics."
He concluded: "This is another conversation with a great friend of the State of Israel... an unparalleled president."
