Sheikh Reviews the Readiness of the Central Elections Commission and Preparations for the Upcoming Entitlement
SadaNews: Today, Thursday, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, visited the headquarters of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission, where he was welcomed by the head of the commission, Dr. Rami Hamdallah, along with the commission members and its executive staff, to review the ongoing preparations for the upcoming elections scheduled for next April.
He listened to a detailed presentation regarding the technical, administrative, and logistical aspects related to the electoral process, and the measures taken to ensure the readiness of polling centers and the updating of the electoral register, to ensure the highest levels of transparency and integrity.
Al-Sheikh emphasized that elections are a fundamental pillar in the Palestinian political system and an important step in strengthening the democratic process and renewing legitimacies through the ballot boxes. He praised the professionalism and independence of the Central Elections Commission and the accumulated expertise that is nationally and internationally appreciated, pointing out that the significance of this entitlement is increasing in light of current developments and changes, as it represents a strengthening of internal unity and a commitment to public will, affirming the Palestinian people's adherence to their democratic option despite existing challenges.
For his part, Hamdallah briefed the Vice President on the overall preparations being carried out by the commission to provide the best conditions for voters under the current circumstances, outlining plans to ensure the smooth flow of the electoral process, training of personnel, and enhancing public trust in conducting free and fair elections that reflect their will.
