Occupation Arrests 40 Citizens Including 4 Women from Several Governorates
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces arrested 40 citizens, including 4 women and a child, from several governorates since last night, Wednesday, until this morning, Thursday.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported in a statement today, Thursday, that the number of arrests in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, has risen to about 22,000 cases since the onset of the war crime of genocide, including those whom the occupation has kept detained and those who were later released. This statistic represents a historic differential in the number of individuals subjected to arrest in just two and a half years. It emphasized that this figure does not include the cases of arrest in the Gaza Strip, which are estimated to be in the thousands, nor the arrest campaigns in the occupied territories of 1948.
It was clarified that the arrest operations are accompanied by unprecedented crimes and violations, including severe beatings, organized terrorism against detainees and their families, extensive vandalism and destruction of citizens' homes, confiscation of vehicles, money, and gold jewelry, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure, demolition of the homes of prisoners' families, using family members as hostages, using detainees as human shields, executing field executions, and exploiting arrests as a cover to expand settlements in the West Bank.
It pointed out that extensive field investigations have targeted thousands since the onset of the genocide, during which occupation soldiers committed crimes no less serious than torture in investigation and detention centers.
It affirmed that the daily arrest policy is one of the most prominent colonial tools historically used by the Israeli system to target Palestinians and undermine any potential uprising or confrontation, affecting various segments of Palestinian society, and continues to escalate despite the ceasefire agreement, which has not halted the genocide and comprehensive aggression against various Palestinian geographies.
