Israeli Estimates: Houthis Threaten Escalation If Washington Strikes Iran

SadaNews - Israeli security estimates have warned that the Yemeni Houthi group may launch new attacks on Israel if the United States proceeds to strike Iran.

According to information from the Israeli Broadcasting Authority (Kan), on Thursday morning, the security apparatus in Israel is preparing for the possibility that the Houthis will resume launching rockets and drones towards Israel if the United States carries out a military attack on Iran.

Security authorities also estimate that if a direct confrontation breaks out between the United States and Iran, the Houthis will join the fighting alongside the Revolutionary Guard.

In a related context, "Kan" reported that a source within one of the Yemeni factions opposed to the Houthis conveyed information to the U.S. administration indicating that the Houthis are making operational preparations to resume attacks against American ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea if the United States attacks Iran.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority explained that the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Eyal Zamir, held special discussions in recent days regarding the "Houthi threat."

Zamir instructed the depth command in the Israeli Army to "prepare and re-approve the target bank in Yemen," in cooperation with the intelligence division and the Air Force.

Negotiations are set to take place between the United States and Iran in the Sultanate of Oman on Friday, but the threat from Washington to launch strikes against Tehran remains in place, according to statements from U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump.

Israel and the United States have previously launched destructive attacks on various areas in Yemen, which they stated were aimed at military infrastructure of the Houthis.
