Nuclear Talks Between America and Iran Shift to Oman on Friday

SadaNews - The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to Iran's request to move the nuclear talks from Turkey to Oman. The first round of negotiations is expected to take place next Friday, with potential participation from Arab and Islamic countries, in a move aimed at reducing tensions between Tehran and Washington.

According to the "Axios" website, consultations are still ongoing to determine the participating countries, while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is making a series of calls with Turkey, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.

An Iranian diplomatic source confirmed that the Omani capital Muscat is the most likely location to host the upcoming talks, praising the efforts of regional countries to find a solution to the dispute with the United States.

For his part, the spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry stated that the location and timing of the negotiations are not complex issues, affirming that Turkey, Oman, and other countries have expressed their readiness to host the meetings, and called for not exploiting media details for political purposes.

In the United States, President Trump confirmed the continuation of negotiations with Iran, refusing to disclose the location of the meetings, pointing out that more than one meeting is currently ongoing.

He added that the Iranian side wishes to negotiate after previous attempts failed, expressing hope to reach an agreement without repeating past crises.

U.S. envoy Steve Hittkoff also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior military and security leaders, where Netanyahu presented Israel's conditions for reaching an agreement with Iran, including halting uranium enrichment, removing enriched stockpiles, stopping Iran's missile program, and ceasing support for its proxies in the region.
