Awqaf: The pilgrimage lottery for the 2026 season will take place electronically next Thursday

SadaNews - The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs announced that the pilgrimage lottery in the northern governorates (West Bank) for the season of 1447 AH / 2026 AD will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at exactly 10:00 AM, at the ministry's headquarters in the city of Al-Bireh, according to the criteria set to ensure transparency and integrity in the selection of pilgrims for the northern governorates.

Regarding the southern governorates (Gaza Strip), the date for confirming registration for the pilgrims of 2023 will be announced next Thursday, and the method of confirmation will be clarified at that time.

This announcement came based on a decision by the ministry's pilgrimage committee, which discussed the reports submitted by specialists regarding all details related to the lottery, including technical, administrative, and organizational aspects, to ensure it proceeds smoothly and fairly.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and head of the pilgrimage committee, Issam Abdul Halim, confirmed that this year's pilgrimage season comes based on "the regulation for organizing pilgrimage affairs" No. (15) which was approved by the Cabinet at the end of last year, pointing out that these measures were taken based on the directives of Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, who emphasized the need to provide the best services for pilgrims and ensure all facilities for them, enabling them to perform the rites easily and comfortably, according to the highest administrative and organizational standards.

Abdul Halim confirmed that the ministry has completed all preparations and logistical arrangements for conducting the lottery electronically, covering all population clusters, which exceed more than 451 populated clusters distributed across the northern governorates, according to the population numbers in each area.

Abdul Halim explained that the number of citizens who registered through the ministry's website (www.tawaf.ps) or through the directorates of Awqaf in the northern governorates exceeded thirty thousand citizens, adding that all their data has been entered into a computerized system covering all the governorates of the homeland to ensure fairness and transparency in selecting pilgrims for this season.
