The Central Committee of Fatah Movement Holds a Meeting in Ramallah
SadaNews - The Central Committee of the Fatah Movement held a meeting yesterday evening, Sunday, at the movement's headquarters for mobilization and organization, to discuss a number of political and organizational issues, primarily the political situation and the challenges facing our people.
The Central Committee expressed its deep concern over the failure of the occupation authorities to adhere to the ceasefire, the Israeli delays in delivering aid, and the opening of the "Rafah" crossing, calling for respect for the international agreements signed with the Palestinian Authority regarding the operation of the crossing.
The Central Committee affirmed that the Palestinian land is a single geographical unit that includes the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, and that the Gaza Strip is part of Palestinian sovereignty, noting the importance of everyone's responsibility to ensure administrative, legal, and security linkage between the institutions of the authority in both Gaza and the West Bank.
The committee reviewed the ongoing attacks by the occupation army and settler mobs against our people and the annexation of more Palestinian lands, as part of the settlement expansion that international institutions have repeatedly confirmed as illegitimate and in violation of international laws and legitimacy.
The Central Committee also discussed the preparations being made by the preparatory committee for convening the eighth general conference of the movement, stressing to all preparatory committees the need to expedite their work to ensure that the conference is held on the scheduled date, which was previously set during the last session held by the Revolutionary Council of the movement.
Additionally, the Central Committee discussed the municipal and local elections scheduled to take place next April this year, and formed several committees to ensure the successful conduct of these elections on time.
The Central Committee will hold continuous meetings to follow up on these important national and organizational issues.
Today, Monday, His Excellency issued a presidential decree specifying that elections for the Palestinian National Council are to be held on 1/11/2026, and that the eighth conference of the Fatah Movement will take place on 14/5/2026.
