The Public Prosecution announces the referral of 3 new corruption cases to the competent judicial authorities
SadaNews - On Sunday, February 1, 2026, the Public Prosecution, in fulfillment of its constitutional and legal duty to protect public funds and safeguard the public interest, referred three new corruption files to the competent judicial authorities after completing due investigative procedures in each case and gathering the relevant evidence and legal proofs in accordance with the law.
The Public Prosecution stated in a press release, "These files relate to developmental projects associated with the General Authority for Crossings and Borders, another file concerning employees in the Ministry of Finance connected to providing facilities in violation of the law for the benefit of the General Authority for Crossings and Borders, in addition to a file related to supply contracts within the same authority. Each file was handled independently and professionally, ensuring the integrity of the procedures and achieving justice."
In a related context, the Public Prosecution confirmed that the file involving the General Authority for Crossings and Borders against the accused N.M. and the accused R.M., for whom international arrest warrants have been issued and circulated internationally through the relevant police and judicial cooperation channels, was initiated by the prosecution as soon as it learned of the crime occurring in October 2025. The case was referred to the competent court on January 14, 2026, following the completion of investigations, witness testimonies, and collection of evidence according to regulations.
It emphasized that all trial procedures in this file have been completed before the Corruption Crimes Court, and a ruling session is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, February 2, 2026.
The Public Prosecution also announced that it is continuing its investigation into a number of other related files, which are still under investigation and evidence collection. Decisions will be made against anyone proven to be involved as soon as the investigations are completed, without delay or leniency, and in accordance with the law and the requirements of justice.
The Public Prosecution stressed that corruption crimes constitute a serious assault on public funds and a direct undermining of community trust in state institutions. It will continue to perform its duties independently and impartially, and will not hesitate to pursue perpetrators of these crimes regardless of their positions or statuses, adhering to the principle of the rule of law, reinforcing the values of justice, and ensuring that perpetrators do not escape punishment.
