Larijani Reveals "Progress" Towards Negotiations Between Washington and Tehran
SadaNews - The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Larijani, announced today, Saturday, that a structure is being established for negotiations with the United States.
He wrote on his account on the "X" platform, "Contrary to the fabricated media hype, the structural arrangements for the negotiations are proceeding forward."
This came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced yesterday that Iran wants to conclude an agreement to avoid military action, adding that he has set an undisclosed deadline for Tehran to respond to his proposals.
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office: "I can say this: They want to reach an agreement." When asked whether he had set a deadline, he replied, "Yes, I did," but added that "only Tehran knows the details of this deadline."
In contrast, Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian confirmed on Friday that Iran welcomes dialogue and is not seeking war.
He also stated in separate communications with the Emir of Qatar and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Thursday: "We believe that war and conflict do not serve any party, and we reaffirm our commitment to the path of interaction and diplomacy," according to what was reported by the ISNA news agency.
