Reports: Investigations Revealed in a Security Case Related to Smuggling Goods from Israel to Gaza

SadaNews - A new security case has been revealed concerning the smuggling of goods from Israel into the Gaza Strip. Haaretz reported that military censorship has imposed a comprehensive ban on publishing extensive details of the ongoing investigations, while only allowing some preliminary information to be released.

The Hebrew Channel 12 described the case as "one that will cause a tremor in the Israeli security establishment," noting that a secret session was held today at the Magistrate Court in Ashkelon, where a large-scale investigation involving several suspects is underway regarding operations to smuggle goods from Israel to Gaza.

The case is still under investigation, amid official silence on its details, while it is expected that the coming days will reveal its dimensions and its impact on the security and political situation in Israel.

Sada News had recently published a report titled: "Israel Fights Gaza with One Hand While Seizing Its Funds with the Other".

This report monitored a change in the types of goods on one side, as well as their noticeable and suitable entry with significantly lower prices than before into the Gaza markets.

After continuous monitoring, it became clear that Israel allowed 10 traders from the Gaza Strip to import goods, and instead of bringing them from the West Bank or Egypt, they are now permitted to enter directly from Israel itself, whereas previously it allowed certain types only from the West Bank and Egypt, and only two traders who were overseeing the entry of goods for the infamous American Gaza Humanitarian Organization.
