Report: Concern in Tel Aviv Over Repeating Yemen Scenario with Iran
SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper Ma'ariv revealed increasing Israeli fears that the American president might apply the model he followed in Yemen to the Iranian arena, by launching strong and time-limited military strikes, and then quickly withdrawing without engaging in long-term resolutions.
These fears are based on the experience of the American operation against the Houthis in March 2025, where Washington withdrew shortly after under an agreement that Israel was not a party to, raising concerns in Tel Aviv about the potential for the same scenario to unfold in confronting Iran.
Despite Israel's estimates that the American military is building up significant capabilities in preparation for a large-scale fight, the Israeli leadership believes that the American president lacks patience for prolonged wars and tends to end them quickly.
The main concern in Israel is that Washington would begin striking Iran and then withdraw, leaving Tel Aviv to face the consequences of regional escalation alone and any potential direct Iranian responses or reactions through its allies in the region.
