SadaNews - Egypt welcomed today, Wednesday, the invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to join the Gaza Peace Council, announcing its acceptance of the invitation.
Egypt emphasized in a statement from the Foreign Ministry its support for the mission of the Peace Council within the framework of the second phase of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in the sector, expressing appreciation for the American president and his commitment to ending the war in Gaza and establishing security, peace, and stability in the Middle East.
Cairo also reinforced its ongoing efforts in coordination with the United States and partners to ensure the stabilization of the ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid without restrictions, and the deployment of an international stabilization force.
Furthermore, it underscored the necessity of empowering the National Committee to manage the Gaza Strip to undertake its duties and begin early recovery projects throughout the sector, paving the way for reconstruction.
It stressed the need to push towards a path that achieves a just and lasting peace and meets the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and statehood, thereby paving the way for security and stability for all countries and peoples in the region.
