Doctors' Syndicate Takes New Measures Due to Government's Intransigence
SadaNews - The Doctors' Syndicate decided on Tuesday to take new measures in light of what it described as the government's intransigence and its failure to respond to its legitimate demands, as well as filing a lawsuit against the Syndicate Council.
This decision came after a meeting held by the Doctors' Syndicate Council, which made syndical decisions that will begin on Wednesday.
It was decided not to comply with the fingerprint attendance for all doctors working in the Ministry of Health, including directors and doctors on specialty programs, while all primary healthcare centers will be completely closed with no attendance.
Regarding government hospitals, only on-call doctors will be present, including those in specialty programs, and work in outpatient clinics and scheduled surgeries will be halted.
The Syndicate confirmed that there will be no attendance at the Ministry of Health building in Nablus and Ramallah and all its affiliated departments.
As for emergencies, only emergency cases and life-saving situations will be accepted, and there will be no participation in all committees and activities of various forms at the Ministry of Health. Any doctor who does not comply will be referred to the disciplinary council of the syndicate, according to the statement.
It indicated that exceptions will be made for emergency transfers and for diseases such as kidney dialysis, tumors, respiratory diseases, and childbirth in hospitals and health directorates, with coordination with the sub-committees for each governorate.
It stated: Any doctor facing pressure regarding syndical procedures from Ministry of Health directors should approach the Syndicate Council with a complaint regarding what they faced, and these measures will also cover resident doctors.
It pointed out that a meeting will be held tomorrow between the syndicate and representatives of the government, and there will be a meeting of the Syndicate Council in the evening to issue a new statement in this regard.
