Israel Prevents Technocrat Committee from Entering Gaza
SadaNews: Haaretz newspaper revealed, citing informed sources, that Israel has refused to allow members of the technocrat committee to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, despite the committee's preparations to head there this week to commence their duties.
The sources indicated that the committee members are still unaware of the timing and mechanism of starting their work on the ground, given the ongoing Israeli stance against their entry.
Days ago, the first meeting of the Palestinian National Committee for the Management of Gaza began in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in a step described as historic for organizing internal Palestinian affairs and re-establishing authority in the territory.
Last Thursday, the head of the Palestinian National Committee for the Management of Gaza, Ali Shath, arrived in Cairo to begin the first meetings of the committee tasked with managing the affairs of the sector, following Washington's announcement of the start of the second phase of the plan to end the war on Gaza, and a factional support for the committee to assume its responsibilities, with Hamas's readiness to hand over government files.
