Occupation Issues Military Order to Remove Trees in Kafr Malik East of Ramallah
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation army has issued a new military order to remove a wooded area extending over 35 donums of land in Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah.
Activist in the village, Jihad Al-Qaq, informed the official agency on Monday that the targeted lands are specified in attached maps marked in red, including agricultural lands belonging to citizens. The removal of vegetation and the transfer of trees, including olive trees, will commence as part of the planned measures.
He noted that the decision grants the occupation army the authority to carry out the work within a short time frame while allowing affected landowners to submit their objections within only 24 hours of the fieldwork's execution, through the liaison and coordination office.
The order also stipulates that these instructions come into effect immediately upon issuance and were signed by the commander of the occupation army yesterday, Sunday.
Al-Qaq explained that more than 10 families will be affected by this arbitrary action targeting agricultural lands and the rights of their owners under security pretexts, pointing out that the village council, in cooperation with the landowners, is moving forward to take legal action and object to the decision.
