Two Killed and Others Injured in Ukrainian Drone Attacks on Russian Border Areas
SadaNews - Two people were killed and others were injured due to attacks carried out by Ukrainian drones on Russian border areas, local authorities announced on Wednesday.
In the city of Rostov-on-Don, a drone attack caused a fire in a residential building, and the body of a man was found among the charred debris of one of the apartments, according to the city's governor Yuri Sliusar via Telegram.
The Rostov region is a key military center for the ongoing Russian attack on Ukraine, which has lasted for nearly four years.
Additionally, four people, including a four-year-old child, were injured in other airstrikes in the Rostov region that caused fires in several industrial areas.
In the bordering Belgorod region, a woman was killed and a man was injured when a Ukrainian drone struck a vehicle, as mentioned by the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on Telegram.
The region regularly experiences Ukrainian drone airstrikes in response to Russian operations and has witnessed widespread power outages this week.
Since the start of the war, Russia has been conducting intensive nighttime airstrikes on Ukraine using hundreds of drones and missiles at a significant pace.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced on Wednesday that Russia launched 113 drones and three ballistic missiles at the country.
Ukraine also launches dozens of drones at Russia every night, targeting military sites and Russian energy facilities.
Kyiv sees cutting off vital oil revenues for the Kremlin, which are used to fund the military, as a legitimate response to the Russian military campaign that has claimed tens of thousands of lives since February 2022.
