20 Families Forcibly Displaced from the Al-Auja Spring Gathering north of Jericho
SadaNews: Today, Thursday, about 20 families were forced to leave the northern side of the Al-Auja Bedouin gathering north of Jericho due to the escalation of repeated settler attacks, accompanied by direct assaults and threats.
The general supervisor of the Baidar Human Rights Organization, Hassan Melihat, stated in a press release that the displaced families belong to the Al-Amarin "Al-Ka’abneh" families, and they were forced to leave their homes and sources of livelihood due to fears for their safety, amidst a lack of any protection and the ongoing pressure and intimidation aimed at emptying the area of its indigenous residents.
He confirmed that what is happening at the Al-Auja Spring gathering is part of a systematic policy of forced displacement targeting Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley, constituting a serious violation of international humanitarian law and human rights.
