North Korean Leader Visits 'Greenhouse' on the Border with China
SadaNews - The official Korean Central News Agency reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected the construction site of a greenhouse on the border with China and encouraged the youth and the workers involved in construction in the new year.
In the past few weeks, Kim has undertaken a series of visits to various military and economic facilities to verify the progress being made ahead of the 9th main conference of the Workers' Party, expected to be held in early this year to determine key policy objectives.
Kim stated, "I wanted to spend the beginning of the year 2026 with my comrades who are welcoming the new year at the northwestern tip of our country, so I rushed here as soon as the central event concluded," and praised the efforts of the workers.
The greenhouse is located in Sinuiiju, directly across the border from the Chinese city of Dandong. It was damaged due to floods in 2024.
