Katz Calls on His Forces to Prepare for Attack from the West Bank Similar to the October 7 Attack
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called on his forces Wednesday evening to prepare to respond to a potential attack against settlements in the West Bank and along the line of contact, similar to the October 7 attack.
Katz stated during his visit to the Israeli military headquarters in the West Bank that operations in the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams camps over the past year have been effective and resulted in a significant reduction of more than 80% in the number of "terrorist" attacks. According to him, as translated by SadaNews.
He added: "We must learn from this and consider expanding the model to include additional camps, acting decisively and continuously."
He indicated that his forces operate in the West Bank, just as they do in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, adding: "The army will remain in the area and will create a clear barrier between the population and terrorist elements to prevent their escalation and thwart their attacks."
He instructed to continue efforts to enhance settlement in northern West Bank areas as soon as possible, considering this a "historical correction of security and settlement importance," adding: "Returning to northern West Bank strengthens security grip and stability in the region."
