Injuries Among Turkish Police Officers During Armed Clash with Suspects Linked to "ISIS"
SadaNews - Seven Turkish police officers were injured today, Monday, during an armed clash with suspects believed to be affiliated with "ISIS" in the Yalova area in northwestern Turkey, according to the official "TRT Haber" channel.
The channel reported that police teams carried out a raid on a house believed to harbor militants near the town of Yalova on the southern coast of the Sea of Marmara, where the suspects opened fire on security forces during the operation.
Authorities confirmed that the injuries are not serious, and special police forces were dispatched from the Bursa region to support the operation.
This incident comes a week after Turkish police arrested 115 individuals suspected of being affiliated with the state organization, who were planning to carry out attacks during Christmas and New Year celebrations, according to the Istanbul public prosecutor's office, which noted that the attacks specifically targeted non-Muslims.
Turkey recalls a record of previous attacks attributed to the militant group "ISIS", including an armed attack on a nightclub in Istanbul and an attack on the city’s main airport nearly a decade ago, resulting in the death of dozens.
