Report: Trump and Netanyahu Meeting Focused on Second Phase of Gaza Agreement and International Force

SadaNews - According to Yedioth Ahronoth, an Israeli source revealed that the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu primarily revolves around the second phase of the Gaza Agreement, along with related arrangements regarding the international force that is to be formed. This issue is considered by Israel to be crucial, as it determines the future of the security and political situation in the Gaza Strip after the completion of the first phase.

The source clarified that Turkey will not be part of this international force, emphasizing that Israel will not accept the imposition of any party it does not want within the system that will manage the upcoming phase. This stance reflects Tel Aviv's desire to control the composition of the international force in a manner that aligns with its security and political interests.

It was also noted that the transition to the second phase will not be swift, even after the last body is returned from Gaza, as the process of forming the international force has not yet matured and will require a long time of negotiations and understandings among the concerned parties. This delay reflects the extent of the complexities associated with the file, both in terms of international agreement and field preparations.

Regarding the capability of the international force to disarm Hamas, the source indicated that there are significant doubts about the feasibility of achieving this goal, but simultaneously stressed the necessity of giving this force the opportunity to attempt it.
