Netanyahu, Katz, and Zamir: We are monitoring developments in Iran and will not allow any of our "enemies" to rearm

SadaNews Translation - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his Defense Minister Israel Katz, and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir confirmed that Israeli security agencies are closely monitoring recent Iranian movements and will act according to Tehran's actions.

This was stated in their separate remarks during a graduation ceremony for a batch of new pilots.

Netanyahu, hinting at Iran, said as translated by SadaNews, "While old threats are changing, new threats are emerging day and night.. We do not seek confrontation, but we are closely monitoring the situation."

He added, "We aspire to manufacture our weapons in Israel.. I have approved the allocation of 350 billion shekels to build an independent weapons industry, in order to reduce our dependence on friends as well," referring to U.S. support.

He continued, "We will not be satisfied with what we have achieved; our enemies are licking their wounds and seeking to rearm.. Today, we witnessed another attack from Hamas, which asserts that it does not intend to disarm, and we will respond accordingly."

He noted that Israeli aircraft, since deterrence was achieved in the region after the October 7 attack, have been flying freely over the Middle East, delivering devastating strikes to those who seek to destroy Israel on seven fronts.

He said, "After this war, we changed the destiny of our country and the fate of the region, achieving great accomplishments that leave an indelible mark."

He added, "Thanks to the remarkable achievements in the war, Germany wishes to purchase more systems from us, and there are other countries in the world waiting for their turn."

For his part, Katz commented on the Iranian situation, stating, "The security establishment is monitoring developments, and of course, I cannot elaborate on that." Adding as translated by SadaNews, "What the situation was before October 7 will not return to how it was."

Regarding Hezbollah, he said, "The utmost levels of firmness will continue to be applied and will indeed deepen, and we will not allow threats to the northern communities; the Israeli army will remain a barrier between our enemies and the communities and populations."

Regarding the Gaza Strip, Katz reaffirmed his commitment to disarming Hamas and stripping Gaza of weapons. He added, "We will destroy all terrorist tunnels, and anyone who raises their hand against Israeli soldiers will have it cut off."

For his part, Zamir stated that the Israeli Air Force is the long-term strategic arm of the State of Israel and remains in its best condition."

Regarding the failures of October 7, he said, "We courageously ask ourselves; we have no other choice.. We will learn from failure but we will not surrender to it, we will apply the lessons together and move in one direction: forward."

He confirmed that his forces will act according to the rules if Israel's security is violated again.
