Police: Arrest of 3 Suspects for Attacking a Church in Jenin

SadaNews - In a swift and decisive security move, the General Investigations Department of the Jenin Police, in cooperation with the General Intelligence and security agencies, managed to arrest three individuals who assaulted the Latin Convent Church in the city of Jenin and burned a Christmas tree. This was achieved in less than 48 hours after the crime, following a meticulous follow-up that included gathering information and conducting searches carried out by the General Investigations and forensics team, alongside a comprehensive review of surveillance cameras.

Brigadier Arzeeqat explained that the General Investigations branch and police departments, in collaboration with security agencies, succeeded in identifying the suspects and seized tools used in committing the crime. He emphasized that any attempt to harm places of worship or disrupt civil peace will be met with strict measures without any leniency.

He confirmed that the police and security agencies will never allow the provocation of sedition or religious tensions, and that protecting churches, mosques, and all sacred places is a national responsibility that cannot be compromised. He added that anyone who assaults sacred places or attempts to divide the national unity will be pursued and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

He concluded by affirming that the police will continue to work decisively and vigorously to maintain security and stability, and that the hand of justice will reach anyone who threatens the unity of Palestinian society or undermines its religious values.

He urged everyone to be accurate in transmitting information and to source it from official channels.
