Ukrainian drone attacks and optimism regarding Miami talks

SadaNews - The latest Ukrainian drone strike caused damage to two ships and two marine docks in the Krasnodar region of Russia, according to local authorities on Monday.

The operations command in the Krasnodar region stated on the Telegram app that all ship crew members at the Volna port in the region were safely evacuated.

The authorities reported that the damages caused a large fire covering an area of up to 1,500 square meters.

In political reactions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that European loan repayments would come from Russian assets.

On his part, Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian president, accused Kyiv and the Europeans on Sunday of delaying an agreement to end the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Whitekov stated in a statement on Sunday that the talks held over three days in Miami, Florida, involving American, European, and Ukrainian officials, were "fruitful and constructive" with the participation of European allies.

Whitekov clarified that the U.S.-Ukrainian meeting focused on four main points: continuing to develop the twenty-point plan, a multilateral security guarantee framework, a U.S. security guarantee framework for Ukraine, and further development in the economy and prosperity for Ukraine's reconstruction.

The U.S. envoy indicated that negotiators specifically focused on timelines and the sequence of next steps.

U.S. President Donald Trump is pressuring both Ukraine and Russia to reach an agreement to end the nearly four-year conflict as soon as possible, but Russia wants to retain the Ukrainian territories it controls, while Kyiv refuses to concede any land.
