Tayyar Calls for Excluding the Economic Empowerment Foundation from the Issue of Prisoners, Injured, and Families of Martyrs
SadaNews - Major General Tawfiq Tayyar, a member of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement, said, "In light of the national positions issued by the institutions of prisoners and ex-prisoners, and the widespread rejection that accompanied the behaviors of what is known as the 'Economic Empowerment Foundation' in dealing with the issue of prisoners, injured individuals, and families of martyrs, I confirm my full support and unwavering endorsement for our brave prisoners, our injured, and the families of our righteous martyrs."
He added that transforming this comprehensive national file, which has been one of the pillars of the Palestinian national project for decades, from a national framework maintained by Fatah Movement, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and its institutions, to an entity that deals with it in the logic of "social cases" and disgraceful survey questionnaires, constitutes a serious violation of national dignity and a blatant distortion of the sacrifices made by those who offered their lives, bodies, and souls in defense of the freedom and dignity of our people and their rights.
He continued, "Forcing social survey questionnaires on prisoners and their families and linking their financial and moral rights to evaluations and criteria unworthy of their struggle history is a nationally and morally rejected behavior, and it opens the door to stigmatizing this institution with suspicious behaviors that contradict national constants and the dignity of our people."
He stated that prisoners, injured individuals, and families of martyrs are not a social burden or emergency humanitarian cases, but they are the vanguard of the Palestinian national movement and its living conscience, and their rights are a national and legal duty that is non-negotiable, non-debatable, or subject to reclassification, consistent with what Brother President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed about not allowing any infringement on the rights of prisoners, whether materially or morally.
He added, "Based on this responsibility, I appeal to my brothers and loved ones in the leadership of Fatah Movement, particularly the first cell of the movement – the Central Committee – to take urgent and immediate action and open a serious and responsible discussion to explore reasonable and creative national solutions that ensure the full preservation of the rights and dignity of prisoners, injured individuals, and families of martyrs, and restore this file to its collective national status, away from any suspicious frameworks or paths that diminish their sacrifices."
He concluded, "I also emphasize the necessity of excluding the 'Empowerment' Foundation from this file and stopping any procedures or mechanisms that touch on the essence of the issue, and returning to a comprehensive national approach that involves the relevant national institutions."
He said, "Loyalty to prisoners, martyrs, and injured individuals will remain a measure of the sincerity of our national belonging, and any infringement upon them is an infringement on the essence of the Fatah Movement and the struggle identity of our Palestinian people."
