Weitkoff Meets with Mediators Regarding Gaza Agreement in Miami
SadaNews - A White House official stated today, Thursday, that Steve Weitkoff, the special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, will meet tomorrow, Friday, with Qatari, Egyptian, and Turkish officials in Miami, Florida to discuss the Gaza agreement, according to Reuters.
The meeting comes as part of efforts to push the next phase of President Trump's plan to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza that has lasted for two years.
The plan calls for a temporary Palestinian technocratic government in the sector, overseen by an "International Peace Council," supported by a multinational security force.
Recently, Qatar and Egypt, the mediators and guarantors of the truce in the war-torn sector, called for moving to the second phase of the agreement based on President Donald Trump's plan, which particularly includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the deployment of an international stabilization force.
