American and Russian Officials Meet in Miami for Talks on Ending the War in Ukraine

SadaNews - American and Russian officials are meeting in Miami this weekend for new discussions on President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine.

According to a White House official speaking to the "Associated Press", these talks are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts led by Washington to push for an end to the war that has been going on for nearly four years.

The official clarified that the meetings will be held without revealing details regarding the composition of the American and Russian delegations participating in the talks.

These developments come two days after meetings that took place in Berlin between Ukrainian officials and envoys from President Trump, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said made progress.

In response, Zelensky warned that Moscow is preparing for "a new year of war", amid ongoing military operations and escalation on the frontlines.

According to what "Politico" reported, it is expected that the American side will include President Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The report mentioned that the Russian delegation will include Russia's economic envoy to President Vladimir Putin, Kirill Dmitriev.

In this context, recent weeks have seen an intensification of diplomatic efforts, including meetings between Witkoff, Kushner, and the Russian president in the Kremlin during November, as well as meetings with Ukrainian and European leaders in Berlin.

Despite these movements, disagreements remain among the parties, especially regarding the future of the territories that Ukraine may be asked to concede in any potential settlement.

While both Ukraine and the United States state that progress has been made on the issue of future security guarantees for Kyiv, this matter remains a point of divergence in views.

In this context, the Russian president stated on Wednesday that Moscow will "certainly" achieve its goals in the war, including "controlling the territories belonging to it".
